What is the strongest issue for Republicans to run on this November?

Why can't the Democrats run against their "perceived" strong points, as the Republicans have done to Democrats in every election at least since Bush Sr? Remember the Swift Boat attacks against Kerry?

Right now, they are all bragging about the great "Trump economy".

How should the Democrats attack them on this issue?

Obama had better numbers on many things so it's not like the heavens opened and sun came through when Dear Leader was sworn in. In any case, it's just a matter of time before it all goes to hell and the timing might land just pre-election. Apparently there are some Texas ships filled with sorghum out at sea with no place to go thanks to Trump. Actually, Dems might consider ignoring whatever Republicans are running on in favor of illustrating the moral decline the Republicans have brought to the country, best illustrated by the 3-ring Washington circus.

Fear is the main driving force in their thinking.

Logic is wasted on them. Intelligent discussions are wasted on them.

Turn every conversation into what they need to fear and convince them they have greater fears than the Democrats coming to take their guns.

Playing on people's emotions can be a powerful tool. With great power comes great responsibility....for example Cambridge Analytica, Facebook, psychographic and personal advertising. The only emotion stronger than fear is hope. I'm very uncomfortable with using fear tactics.

Cambridge Analytica personalized false, fear mongering advertising and fake news stories to scare people into voting for trump. I hope that we're above that sort of mind""*ckery.

We aren't the evil tricksters...the GOP is.

To get conservatives to vote for Democrats we have to work on things they fear that are in our favor.

We need to counter them with a stronger message on each of those three points (not just a "Trump is stupid/corrupt/evil" message) - which we can definitely do.

They will also throw in abortion in the Supreme Court - but there's no winning over those voters on those issues - we just need more of ours to turn out.

The new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows that the tax cuts, never broadly popular, have sagged in public esteem lately — just 27 percent of Americans call them a good idea.

GOP strategists found the tax cuts an ineffective message against the Democratic candidates during a special House election in Pennsylvania and dropped the issue nearing Election Day.

The question now is how much effort GOP candidates sink into improving their stance on the tax-cut issue.

6. Tax cuts !?

The beautiful tax cuts that could not make it 6 months until they created a trillion dollar deficit??

So some forked-tongued Republican could brag about how he had to cut Medicare and Social Security to pay for their beloved "taxcut" ?? After all, just like the Bush taxcuts in 2001-02, spend like drunk sailors and make the elderly and most needy pay for it?

They might start there?

...starting with the huge deficit.

Show the people how much the tax cuts are costing them?

And maybe remind them of how much extra they pay in taxes on each fill-up of gasoline.

21. If They Were Smart, They'd Be Running AWAY From Trump

As in, we SHOULD be seeing TV ads of Republican candidates talking about how they're not with Trump, and they actually support his impeachment. It's the only way to avoid going down with the Trumptanic. That's if they were SMART. But remember, we're talking about Republicans here. So.......

However, literally EVERY TV ad for the Republican primaries I'm seeing here in Ohio is almost word-for-word alike. They ALL say, "My opponent wouldn't support Donald Trump on this issue and that issue." So it appears that they're actually all running TOWARD Trump. At least for the primaries. I think that strategy is a losing one come November.
