A remarkable demonstration of representative Democracy

How amazing would it be if our institutions withstand the egregious assaults by Trump and the GOP? If these governmental agencies are able to maintain their missions in spite of the malicious intents of these miscreants.

What if the skeleton of the State Department is able to keep our international relations from exploding by working behind the scenes to prevent catastrophes?

What if the Department of Justice is able to investigate and bring to light the crimes that have been committed by so many beginning with Trump and cascading downwards?

What if Congress-- either now or more likely following a Democratic takeover-- is able to use its Constitutional powers to rein in the Executive Branch and perhaps even neuter it? And all of this happens with the support of the Judicial Branch.

I don't know if this will happen, but if the United States can affirmatively survive this Era of Trump, and come out of the debacle with even stronger checks and balances within our governments, our nation can once again become the beacon of freedom in the world.
