It really is the little things that matter....the things done silently or quietly or done without expecting praise or thank-yous....the things done on the side when nobody is watching.
It's easy to get caught up in the cable news loop of troubling stories hour after hour after hour. Sometimes we can't see the trees for the forest, the good news trees.
As that pathetic excuse for a president was golfing and tweeting in Florida, oblivious to anything or anybody not named Donald J. Trump, something quite different was happening in Houston. Today at the funeral honoring his literacy advocate wife of 73 years, former president George H. W. Bush sat in a wheelchair wearing wonderful, colorful book socks.
