Mike Flynn Jr insists his 'patriot' dad did not lie to Mike Pence about talking to Russians

Mike Flynn Jr. defended his father, President Donald Trump’s disgraced first national security adviser, in a pair of tweets.

The younger Flynn denied that his father lied to Vice President Mike Pence about his contacts with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the transition period overseen by Trump’s running mate.

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn pleaded guilty Dec. 1 to one count of making false statements to the FBI regarding his contacts with Kislyak and agreed to cooperate with the special counsel probe into Trump campaign ties to Russia.

Pence said Dec. 22 that he knew Flynn had lied to him at the time of his February 2017 firing when he denied discussing U.S. sanctions with Kislyak before Trump took office.

Flynn Jr is correct in saying that Flynn never lied to Pence because Pence knew about Flynn's conversation with Kislyak. But Flynn did lie to FBI but not to the Trump Administration since Pence and Trump and others in WH know that Trump directed Flynn to talk to Kislyak.

Trump was right in claiming that Flynn's judgment is questionable since Flynn should not have lied to FBI to cover up the substance of the phone call if he thought the conversation was legal and appropriate. Sr. and Jr. are both quite stupid.
