armed at the time and despite being known to be dangerous and unbalanced.
But of course, like Nikolas Cruz (and Dylan Root), he is white.

(6,977 posts)Well, there was the "black thing" going on there with those who were murdered like big game animals.
I think

Being black in a Waffle House.
Police wrestled a black woman to the ground, exposing her breasts in restaurant, video shows.

So, going to a Waffle House may be a NO NO for a black woman/man.

(18,124 posts)has been caught? I thought he was still in hiding. And no if he didn't die it's because he's privileged and given the benefit of life. I see he was captured, alive.

(65,487 posts)My point is that cops CAN handle people without killing them, and even dangerous people, even armed and dangerous people.
Therefore, the "I feared for my life" excuse for blowing away unarmed black men, even those who have not committed a crime, or who have committed at most a minor infraction (like having a license plate on the back of their car instead of both front and back), is BS racism, pure and simple.

(9,766 posts)Neither if them were armed at the time of their arrest. One had a gun in his backpack , which the cops wouldn't have known until they searched it.
Personally I'm glad they were both taken alive. Death would have been the easy way out for both of them.

(14,249 posts)But they shoot and kill unarmed black men because they were in fear of their lives because they didnt know for sure that they werent armed?
In other words, they assume white men who actually murdered people and were on the run DIDNT have a gun and werent dangerous until they searched them, but they assume black men that they stopped for jaywalking, selling cigarettes, driving a car, or just being in their own backyard were armed and dangerous and needed to be dealt with using deadly force?
Hunh?
