after a party for the Secret Service while intoxicated. He is apparently denying these allegations. There are also allegations that he kept private stashes of controlled substances that he was handing out w/out prescriptions. (I get annoyed by drug Puritanism people seem to forget that certain drugs are legal and that yes some people need them but these allegations are much more serious and handing these out without a prescription is illegal).
The allegations come from at least 23 different sources so not one disgruntled employee or other bullshit. He sounds VERY problematic. Now CNN is blaming the democrats for some odd reason (they shouldnt leak this info! But then it is obvious that the leak happened because the White House was refusing to cooperate).
Also, this is the guy who said Trump will live to 200!! Sigh. People are saying hes an ass kisser that is a nasty dick to people below him but kisses the butt of his superiors (Trump would obviously be especially vulnerable to cheap flattery). Now, again, these are allegations.
This speaks to whether or not this guy should be put in charge of the V.A. there are allegations that he was apparently passed out drunk and couldnt be reached for a medical situation. That is serious.
Im sure Trump loved him so much after that ridiculous medical report that he was like yeah give him the V. A.! Sigh.

(15,019 posts)I'm not really, b/c he has no business being anywhere near the White House, or the VA (except as a patient), and with McConnell as Senate majority leader I can't be certain they won't confirm him despite all this. But I am glad Trump has embarrassed himself yet again. Could not happen to anyone more worthy of it.

(4,407 posts)The NYT article implies he absconded with Percocets (a Schedule II Controlled Substance) possibly for himself. Asked a physician's assistant to write a false script (a violation of the Controlled Substances Act)
Drunkenness and what sounds like hung over behavior when he's not drunk. I've worked with impaired physicians for over 30 years, and this clearly looks like a doctor who, if in private practice, would have had his license summarily suspended.
Instead, the Navy promotes him to admiral and makes him physician to the President. What the hell?
