COLLUSION!NYT: Russian lawyer at Trump Tower meeting had closer ties to Kremlin

than previously disclosed
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/04/27/politics/russian-lawyer-trump-tower-2016/index.html
<snip>
Newly surfaced emails indicate that Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who met with Trump campaign associates in 2016, once worked with Russia's chief legal office in an effort to thwart the Justice Department, The New York Times reported on Friday.
The newspaper notes that the disclosure suggests that the lawyer had closer ties to the Kremlin than she had previously suggested.
The June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower is an area of inquiry in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into whether anyone from the Trump campaign colluded with Russians to meddle in the election.
Donald Trump Jr., then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, among others, attended the meeting. Emails have revealed that Trump Jr. accepted the meeting on the premise that he would be offered incriminating information on Hillary Clinton by way of the Russian government.
Trump Jr. has said the meeting was unproductive and that instead of providing dirt on Clinton, Veselnitskaya tried to lobby the Trump campaign on repealing 2012 sanctions.
Last year, Veselnitskaya denied having worked for the Russian government in an interview with NBC News. According to the Times, however, Veselnitskaya now appears to be backtracking from her prior denials.

She also notes that she obtained the information she took to the Trump Tower meeting from Glenn Simpson at Fusion GPS, they are tied up in everything. She defends him though as as being "framed" as she calls the dossier "absolute nonsense", she's all over the place.

There was never going to be a 'handoff' of friggin' physical documents FFS. That would've jeopardized everyone. Now, possible that dipshit DJTJr didn't pick up on that and really wasn't in the loop re: how things would go down, but Manafort I guarantee you knew 'how this was going to work'. Dude's worked with Russians FOREVER.

The lamestream media continually avoids making this rather obvious connection ... meeting happens, sanctions discussed ... <1 week later 'the dirt' starts to flow from Wikileaks, who we have great reason to believe got the info from Russian hackers.

Gee, you think the Trump reps maybe gave NV enough reason to think the sanctions would be lifted under Trump, and then she gave the go-ahead for WL to start their dump?

Cause I sure as shit do.

But I guess that's just a bridge too far for the media to even speculate on. All we get is 'Trump's team denies they ever rec'd the documents from the Russians' ... duuuh ... okay.

Fortunately I'm betting Mueller isn't as credulous ...
