I've been binge watching "Designated Survivor" on Hulu. It's quite well-done for network.

However, it's making me so sad to see what a President should do and should be, all the while knowing what a despicable, vile, petty, empty, morally-bankrupt, bigoted, sociopathic, criminal, treasonous, lying, and malignantly narcissistic POS that is currently infesting the White House. He is attempting to tear this country and its democratic institutions apart in a vile attempt to cover up his crimes and treason. I am 62; I fear I won't live long enough to see us undo the catastrophic damage he is inflicting on America and the planet.

I so hope Robert Mueller is able to bring that sleazy con man to justice, but I'm not holding my breath. I fear that nobody in politics today have the will or the courage to hold him and his crime family accountable for what they are doing. Even if Democrats take the House and Senate in November, I'm already hearing talk that they will "take impeachment off the table." That will only embolden even more criminal and treasonous behavior in the future because there are no consequences for the perpetrators. This sad and dangerous trend began the minute that Jerry Ford pardoned Richard Nixon and got worse when the Bush Administration committed numerous crimes and not held accountable for any of them. Likewise, I see the inept and questionable judges being appointed to the Federal bench and I'm even more concerned for our country.

I fervently hope I'm wrong.

... it’s turned into an afternoon soap opera.
Some of the worst script writing I’ ve ever sat before.
Stopped watching it.

Considering the magnitude of the disaster that was the premise of the show, they wandered off into James Bond type plot lines for no obvious reasons.

You've got two basic themes.

1) Sexy people having sex (doctors, lawyers, firemen, policemen)

2) Bad people behaving badly. (Crooks, politicians, gangs)

I had written more, but then realized I was guilty of a fair number of spoilers. Figured I let ya find out on yer own.

I'll be interested to hear if you agree. I'll have to admit I am rarely within the mainstream of popular entertainment.

pretty well-written so far for a network show. As you can see, I hardly ever watch network shows, and I never watched serialized shows like this because I didn't like being tied down every week to a show. However, with streaming services, I can watch them whenever I want. I'll keep watching, but it is disappointing to read that the writing deteriorated. Thanks for your input!

I wish it had remained the thriller it was in the first season. We probably won't watch it next season if it gets picked up.

Sadly, I thought it quickly devolved into the typical network drama with overdone special effects, weak script and dull characters. I think I've become spoiled on British television. After "Downton Abbey" I started buying all kinds of series on DVD and have yet to be disappointed. We're currently hooked on cop shows. The last series we watched - "Line of Duty" - is one of the best series yet. Now we're watching "Luther." Great shows. (I know your post was more about the nightmare that is our reality, but it was nice to veer off onto something different for a minute.)
