Interesting exercise: "Politics" or "Issues"?

Try looking with a critical eye at the posts here on DU.

Ask yourself "Does this have to do with politics? With the perceptions about political figures and issues? Or does this have to do with the actual issues themselves?"

After doing this on DU, go on to asking this same question when you watch or read the news.

It is not a waste of time. It will tell you a lot about what the game is and how you are being played.

We like to kid ourselves that it's about the issues and policy. lumberjack_jeff Aug 2012 #1

But by doing the exercise I suggest, perhaps it will be a little easier to see that fact as well.
