What did the Dotard mean by that?
Will his supporters resort to violence?
Will they be marching in the streets?
Did that sound like a veiled threat to anyone else?
I expected to hear him say that "our Second Amendment friends will take care of that". He is ten times more vulgar than Michelle Wolf and a thousand times more dangerous.

(58,785 posts)hard, and will be harder still, in order to enrage and energize currently demoralized Republicans. This is a threat but, even more, orders from their leader to his followers. Expect a lot more from right-wing voices.
The story is that Democrats are trying to destroy democracy (and usher in totalitarian government) by illegally removing the president elected by the people. They want the nation (left as well as right) in flames over the impeachment (thus all the inflammatory posts here). They're not pointing out that it's totally impossible for us to do now, but are using the real probability that will happen if we get control of congress on November 6 as their major tactic for holding power.
And, yes, the fascist-forerunners on Fox ARE telling their viewers that millions of righteous patriots (all right wing, of course) will take to the streets to fight for democracy.

(616 posts)That's very clear.
He understands that he has committed impeachable offenses. He hopes and expects that his "supporters" will rise up and rebel. Some of them might. But we've survived a civil war before. The smart people will support the Union.

(5,754 posts)Like he always does. Only this time he won't intimidate anyone. Let's all get together and do a civil suit against him for threatening us.

(102,405 posts)I am totally out of adjectives to describe how I feel about him, his supporters, and what is happening to our country. The long abandoned "child" in me, wants a miraculous intervention... perhaps his poor health habits will be our deliverance.

(13,616 posts)I seriously believe that it is time that some of these would be Confederates join their ancestors in Civil War Cemeteries. Since apparently shame did not teach them manners, they can stay silent in their graves, which we can pave over and make a playground for children.

(2,850 posts)And I wouldn't be surprised if he encouraged them to do it. He's a psycho and so are a lot of his supporters. Its a sad state of affairs. On the other hand, the violent tantrums of him and his goon squad won't forestall the inevitable. The feds are going to expose him at very least, and eventually the dems will have the power to act. Maybe a few republicans will even have the decency (or enough electoral worries) to cooperate.

(32,095 posts)Most of them are too lazy and cowardly to take to the streets, but there are a few that likely would. I wouldn't put it past one or two of them to pull some sort of Timothy McVeigh-style attack. No doubt Spanky and his propagandists (Hannity, Alex Jones, etc.) will encourage the violence. You can bet on it.

(42,641 posts)Unfortunately, I do not see the cowards and crooks who run the current GOP doing anything about impeachment. Their only concern is fundraising and doing what the 1% tell them to do.

They're setting the table to make it an election issue because it will motivate CONservative voters.
