Our projections show that under current law, trillion-dollar deficits will return permanently by next year and debt will exceed the size of the economy within a decade. Under potentially more realistic policy assumptions, the country will be facing a $2.4 trillion deficit and debt of 113 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2028. These projections show a fiscal situation that is clearly unsustainable.

The Dems need to frame the "conservative gop" as the party of debt and deficits. Come up with a catchy slogan and repeat ad nauseum. Every Dem on every show, everywhere on social media....talking points, everyone on the same page.

the overspent themselves into collapse. we used their dependence on the strong military and a political inability to pull out of afghanistan against them.
putin is doing the same thing to us. using our addiction to tax cuts for the rich and refusal to pay for them against us. well of course it's just the republicans who are the irresponsible ones, so he had to make sure the republicans won....

(12,029 posts)Seriously. I've been incorporated for a decade and am in the highest tax bracket. I thought I was supposed to be one of the beneficiaries of this stupid new tax policy, yet my CPA tells me I'm going to be paying more in taxes this year, due to the Blue State penalty. Who, exactly, is benefiting?
