(I love this man. I've met him on numerous occasions. He's whip smart, charming and can sway an audience like no ones business. Still, I am hoping he'll run for governor instead. We really need him.)

The clues continue to stack up. And they all point in exactly the same direction.
Jason Kander is serious about this White House thing.
There he is speaking at a big fundraiser in Dallas County, Iowa. There he is in New Hampshire, another key state on the road to the White House, speaking last month to a sellout crowd in Nashua, attacking President Donald Trump and the states Republican governor.
It is time that politicians who make it harder to vote find it a whole lot harder to get re-elected, Kander told the 600 Democrats that night at the same McIntyre-Shaheen Dinner thats featured former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

(39,374 posts)Then again, he did run about 16 points better than HRC in a red state. Plus he retains his outsider sheen. Pre-Trump, you would have to laugh at his resume. Not anymore.

(29,674 posts)He could use a two term to jump into the presidential run in 2028.

(11,257 posts)He served one term as Missouri SOS. He just became eligible to run for President LAST YEAR.
I don't doubt that he could be great, but we really need someone ready to step in on day one. Kander has plenty of time. I'd gladly support him any other year, and even as VP in 2020, but I really think 2020 is too soon.
And just thinking out out loud, I'd have no problem with Biden, Clinton, or Warren in 2020, in each case vowing to serve only one term to right the ship, with Kander as VP and the heir apparent to run in 2024 (when he'd only be 44).

(29,674 posts)With an incredible 2028 presidential run. He'd be under 50 and have experience.

I think he's young enough to have a strong future ahead of him.

(29,674 posts)And there were reports of irregularities throughout the state on election night. Several counties reported different results from exit polls compared to the actual results. And a few in my county stated they voted for the Democratic candidate but the screen repeatedly stated Republican, to the point they complained at the polls.
