Just voted in local election. Person in front of me asked clerk if only citizens could vote.

She reassured him that non-citizens could not vote and that we had a voter id law. His response was, "Good, good." The right is doing a fine job with misinformation if someone would even pose this question.

Republicans know their policies and views are quickly falling out of favor with Americans so they are setting up any losses as being due to illegal votes. As soon as more people see through that charade of theirs, the Repubs will move on to something else. Unfortunately violence and election fraud are not off the table for them.

I worry more about who counts the votes....

Right now I'm working to make Michigan the first "Right to Vote" state. But, Please don't let that stop you from making your state the first "Right to Vote" state.

This is from VoteTexas.gov

Here is a list of the acceptable forms of photo ID:

Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph
United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph
United States Passport (book or card)
With the exception of the U.S. Citizenship Certificate, which does not expire, for voters aged 18-69, the acceptable form of photo identification may be expired no more than four years before being presented for voter qualification at the polling place. For voters aged 70 or older, the acceptable form of photo identification may be expired for any length of time if the identification is otherwise valid.

There is additional info. here also.

In New York City, back when local school boards were elected, you could vote in those races if you were a U.S. citizen or if you were a noncitizen parent with at least one child in public school. Obviously, the voter cards for people in the latter group were segregated so that they'd be unable to vote in other elections.

I think it's a good idea. It would encourage parents to get more involved in their children's education. Of course, any city trying to adopt such a rule now would be mercilessly pilloried by the xenophobes.

It does sound like a good idea. The more parental involvement in education the better the educational experience becomes. Not only is it advantageous for the children, but also the parents. The more interaction that occurs within a community, the more cohesive it becomes.
