Probably kicking himself up & down his block for agreeing to work for that treasonous tyrant wannabe. I can't imagine the Twitter meltdown to come, say oh, about Zero Dark 30 or so tomorrow morning. Anybody wanna play?

(5,801 posts)supposedly "distinguished" Washington power player dips his toe in the donnie cesspool and gets slimed.
However smart this guy is, he didn't have the sense to stay away from the vortex emanating from and engulfing the White House.
Perhaps he thought this was going to be the ultimate test of his abilities and make him a legend for salvaging donnie. Tonight shows that's a pipe dream.

(11,885 posts)What did i do to deserve this. trump probably already broke promises he made to him , so it may not be that long before he realizes he's made a terrible mistake, if he hasn't already. trump will try to manipulate him with things to corrupt him with , like he probably tried to do to previous lawyers. Once trump understands he can't be corrupted , he'll fire him to get someone who can be corrupted. He does that to many others also. Flood will never be the top lawyer making all the decisions. rump probably thinks he knows more than all of them about law, just like with everything else he's involved in.

(58,785 posts)presidents, VPs, etc. Williams & Connolly was undoubtedly one of the 4 firms that were repeatedly asked to represent Trump but turned him down. Trump had even offered Flood a position in his administration, which he turned down.
In any case, Flood and his partners have to have been following all developments very closely and finally entered the fray with their eyes open. Wonder if they have running bets among themselves on what stupid thing Trump's going to do next?
But notably, at this time Flood represents the White House interests. Giuliani is Trump's own lawyer. What this means must be enormous to attorneys, even if not clear to me
Notably, Flood does not believe in the use of impeachment for political purposes. (What honorable person does?) It's entirely possible that, should we regain enough power in November, Trump will face impeachment and removal from office -- if sufficient cause for just removal has been found, or created by Trump himself.
It's not a popular view here on DU, but Trump was elected by American voters; sure in a massive national negligence and moral depravity spanning right to left that mirrors Trump's own, but America chose this depraved, mentally incompetent criminal, and known possible traitor, as our president. An argument can be made that removal for being exactly what Americans knew he was when they voted for him is not justified. One of the writers of the 25th amendment, still very much alive, says that that amendment would not apply for this reason.
This is a way of speculating that Flood may have entered in part in preparation for defending Trump against impeachment. Guessing he'll also probably take the case, though, if the Mueller or other investigation turns up serious evidence for removal for cause. Someone would have to represent the president.
