Who would play Avenatti if this were a classic Hollywood film...?

...today's actors are very much eligible, but I was thinking of a classic David vs Goliath film from the 40s or so...maybe directed by Frank Capra, or maybe Howard Hawks or John Huston...in any event, some actor with an edge. Bogart? Kirk Douglas? Steve McQueen? Someone who'd love to take on very powerful mobsters, with an air of panache...other suggestions?

Kirk Douglas would work, and how about Burt Lancaster, or Robert Mitchum, maybe Paul Newman?

No matter how it's sliced, I think the Rump role would be harder to cast. Who the hell wants THAT on their list of credits?

This guy is a fast talker — literally and figuratively — and I don’t mean that as an insult. I love this guy. I love Bogart, too, but he doesn’t cut the same rug.

My vote? Billy Dee Williams.
