Most likely reason Sadler wasn't fired for the "he's dying anyway" comment is Trump said it first.

It's very much the sort of thing Trump WOULD say, probably with any number of staffers hearing it, probably for months now.

And as unhappy as the WH is about the leak letting us know that Kelly Sadler said it -- a leak probably motivated by infighting among the staff -- Trump and John Kelly would be more worried that staffers who like Sadler might react to her being fired by letting the media know that Trump made similar comments about McCain.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to learn that Sadler was told by Kelly or BLOTUS NOT to publicly apologise.

Not that he would actually want to go to the funeral, but he's angry about McCain specifically not wanting him there. He's petty enough to say something like that, although even he knows he can't say it in public. Sadler has probably heard it many times from Trump and others in the WH. She stands out only because someone chose to leak her comment.

hate McCain for being disloyal to their leader.

America is in very big trouble.

to make that ghastly statement in front of a room full of people without no fear that she was saying anything that group would find out of line. That clearly shows that she was only repeating the same sentiments that her peers shared and that the management found acceptable.

The entire Trump administration is rotten to the core. Their attitudes are baked in, there's no moral compass among the whole lot, ot a shred of decency, probity or rectitude will ever be found in any Republican.
