I think he has entered the zone where putin and team, rump and so on, will see him as a real problem.
I wonder if we could start that? I guess I could.

(102,276 posts)hiring security if he thought he needed it. From what has been reported, he is generally swarmed by those who support him wherever he goes, so they are at least providing a buffer... But yeah, all it takes is one damned RW nut with a gun.

I hope he remains safe and a LOUD effective voice.

(9,070 posts)probably the Russians are the likely bad guys. Of course, some of the well-regulated militia types are pretty crazy too.

(10,828 posts)that worries me about Avenatti--his effectiveness is making him a prime target of the Trumpster Brigade. Of scandal and smears and yes, even some unfortunate 'accident.' If Stormy Daniels was threatened, I would assume Avenatti knows what he's dealing with and has taken precautions. Because he's prying open a lot of ugly and by his own admission, he's only getting started.
Doesn't he already have a crowdsourcing fund for legal expenses, Eliot? I would guess that security would be included in that.

(9,983 posts)That snazzy "superhero" outfit is fireproof Nomex, custom made to measure @$1K+. I have a similar one in the closet. but not so snazzy or 'spensive. Racers are like other people who do "high risk" sports - we are actually careful folk, who can come back alive from some pretty hairy stuff because we prepare for the risk.
Michael is pretty well fixed - he's a "properly funded driver" in an expen$ive series - so we needn't pass the hat for a bodyguard. But a lot of the things that "security" would do for Joe Blow, he does as a matter of course.
As a crazy-but-wise friend once explained "Don't never chase nobody into a dark alley! There could be anything in there - A mad dog, a f'n howitzer, or some asshole wit` a 2x4. It don't matter what it is, exackly, but ain't no way that's gonna work out!" Mike is used to making those kind of choices several times a lap at the track. As Rachel Maddow said "He's verysure footed!"
