(3,430 posts)...the Trump campaign were using the methods discussed to target ads based on FB profiles with more political content, leaving the content meant to racially antagonize to the Russians and other surrogates.

Think that unauthorized persons who immigrated are voting and undermining the electoral voting system? Hey, look at this!
You think that the repubs are rigging the system and the EC is an abomination anyway? Tune in to this ad.
I can see racially antagonizing the Trump base to get them pissed off and turn out to vote. You appeal to extreme identity folk, you get them revved up.
Antagonizing the Clinton/Sanders base to get *them* pissed off and turn out to vote, not so much. You appeal to extreme identity folk, and you *still* get them revved up.
Remember: Goal 3, a late goal, was to support Trump.
Goal 2, an early goal, was to work against HRC.
Goal 1, the first goal, was to undermine faith and confidence by Americans in the American political system. If you do that, you're abiding by our Russian overlord's wishes.
