Who was it that said Karl Rove was a "genius"?

Both sides gaffe! If by gaffe, you mean 'crap we make up'

by kos

Why is Obama more prime to gaffes and going off message this time around? http://t.co/66f9NZEG
— @KarlRove via HootSuite

That is actually something that Karl Rove tweeted, you know, the guy who was George W. Bush's brain. He's immune to irony.

But it's not hard to see what he's trying to do—the media is replete with stories about Mitt Romney's neverending parade of gaffes. Rove here is working the refs, trying to get the media to shift from, "Romney is a gaffe machine," to "both sides do it!"

Of course, that requires us to expand the definition of "gaffe" to "words the GOP has to splice together dishonestly to take out of their proper (and non-controversial) context." And who knows, given the quality of today's political media, it might just work.

Still, looking at Rove's tweet, doesn't it look a bit odd? "Prime to gaffes"? Oh, he probably meant "primed" or "prone."

Gaffe!

11. Please don't underestimate the guy...

... he has evolved over the years to become a very treacherous campaigner. And he is VERY tuned into what motivates voters. He and his minions spend A LOT of time and resources on defining and predicting voter behavior and public perception. He's also not averse to cheating.

I'm not suggesting he's the boogyman, but I hear the boogyman is scared shitless of him.

ie, accusing Obama of whatever Mitt or the Republicans themselves are doing.

The word "prime" (primed) slipped out. This is exactly what rove is doing ... priming the media pump to report out President Obama's "gaffes" (read: the one sentence of 7 words, where we removed 16, that we feed you.)

5. This is so transparently the heart of his political genius ... and he just tweeted himself out.

All that's in the news about Romney are his gaffes.
Everybody knows this.
Obama has almost none, if any.
Most everybody knows this, too.

Rove accuses Obama of making gaffes.
It's absurdly obvious what he's trying to do.
I think even a moran could see through this brilliant technique.

and.. I DON'T think it's going to work this election year,
dog willing.

He is nothing. He got lucky when he had political power but that was only because the Democrats were lazy.

I cringe when I hear some on DU try to deify the rat-bastard.

If he is so powerful, how did Palin happen? And now Romney?

9. Why? Because the GOP has abandoned any scruples hey might have had and blatantly lie

It's past the swiftboating stage and into fantasy with them. They can't even argue that something is a matter of perspective, when you cut and paste to manufacture 'gaffes'. Next thing they will CGI Obama to show him dealing drugs out of the White House and kicking poor little white orphans. Why even bother with slicing and dicing tape when you can make it up from whole cloth?

10. gaffes are defined as when somebody in power accidentally tells the truth

Acting like an effing idiot is not so much as a gaffe as it is simply being lame and unqualified. If ONLY Mitt could tell the truth, even accidentally, we would all be better off. He's just a clueless pinhead.
