Trump re: NK: "We cannot let that country have nukes-We just can't do it"

“We cannot let that country have nukes. We just can’t do it,” he said of North Korea, which has been working on missiles capable of hitting the United States.

North Korea, which has abruptly changed tone in recent days after weeks of warming toward South Korea and preparations for the U.S. summit, said on Wednesday the meeting with Trump might not take place if the United States continued to demand it unilaterally abandon its nuclear arsenal

The United States has demanded the “complete, verifiable, and irreversible” dismantlement of North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, which Pyongyang has rejected.

North Korea has given no indication that it is willing to go beyond statements of broad support for the concept of denuclearization.

7. Stranger - before there was concern there would be no summit, Bolton recommended the "Libya model"

over the Iran model. By that he meant that after we attacked Iraq, Libya, which was starting to develop a program that could lead to nuclear weapons, handed over everything they had to start in that direction. Here is an article that speaks of Bolton's comments and the history. http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=51735&catid=74&Itemid=30

When I first heard the Bolton comment - my husband and I were listening to the news in the car and both had the same obvious reaction -- this is insane given that Gaddafi was later killed! How speaking of Libya helps convince Kim is beyond me.

sovereign nations they can't have nukes. I'm no fan of Kim, but there's something basically wrong with that.
