A little perspective on the Chick Fil A thing

All right, this will probably be my last real post about Chick Fil A but I wanted to put a little perspective on this.

2004: 31 vs 60 2008:39 vs 58 2012: 47 vs 44
What are those? those are the support vs oppose same sex marriage from pew polls. Others place support for same marriage even higher.
Some other numbers to think about:
6: the number of states currently offering same sex marriage
4: the number of lower courts that have already ruled DOMA is unconstitutional

So while a bunch of goobers clog their arteries eating fried chicken and Chick Fil-A's CEO gives millions of that profit to hate groups remember this..

They were losing long before Cathey ever opened his mouth.

The right needs wedge issues to motivate their base. Especially when they have such an incredibly weak candidate.

I expect the Right will try to pump up SOMETHING, some issue that will get their base to give a shit this year. Right now their base isn't seeing much reason to stand in line and vote. They come with a bogus idea: Gay people getting married hurts marriage. It doesn't have to make sense or be any deeper than that because it is just a dog whistle to call out their base and get them to hold their noses and vote for Romney.

The problem is their base is a bunch of rural types who voted for a cowboy and the Republican Party this time decided to say, screw that base, let's run a slimy, two faced, rich city slicker.

a guy on horse, who's self-reliant, a couple guns and no gov'mint. They have won with fake cowboys like Reagan and W and they probably would try to cowboy Romney but he can't even fake being human and the cowboy angle would have to involve his time in Utah because Massachuesettes and France just ain't cowboy country pardner. Mitt is running away from his Mormonism and stereotypes about Mormons don't fit at all with the cowboy myth -- no drinking, no coffee, no swearing, multiple wives just doesn't sound like a freedom fantasy.

Even Rafallca has more cowboy cred than Mitt.
