This is from a statement released Thursday in response to Canada
Those days are over? Seems an odd turn of phrase for an administration that will be lucky to still be in office a year from now.
This is just one phenomenon among many since he took office. He operates as if he has nothing to fear and do as he would please because consequences dont apply to him. The tenor and demeanor of trump is not just one of someone that does not see himself going anywhere anytime soon but is not leaving at all.
I will never forget a walking interview of Ghoulini, coming out of trump tower, at some point after the election but before trump took office, in which he says something to the effect of seeing the last election of a president.
Almost said in passing and no follow-up.
Did he let the game slip back then
and no one realized it?

I'm sure there was discussion somewhere about how it was clear Obama wasn't leaving office because he said that.

(8,732 posts)Which is why the term, on its own, is easily dismissed as bluster. But in context of their many other actions and their complete disregard for any norms of government that go way beyond any former administration, its hard to dismiss completely. This administration conducts itself as if there are no rules or repercussions for their actions.
Im not a conspiracy nut but Im not going to dismiss what is playing out in front of me in the false notion it cant happen here because that has been said by others in other places and they were wrong.

In the end its just my thoughts...not for me to decide anything.
It may be nothing. It may be something. At the very least no one can say we didnt know

(30,481 posts)And these are strange times. I've simply heard the same thing too many times about Obama and Bush.

(8,732 posts)But this is decidedly different. Obama hate was just fear-mongering racism.
Bush and his administration colored outside the lines a lot and the Iraq invasion was likely illegal.
That said, the level of corruption and disregard and disrespect for government norms is undeniably the worst in US history. So much so there is no point of reference to it that in any way compares. That is my concern.
