Pardoning Martha Stewart

James Comey didn't prosecute Martha Stewart for who she was and her celebrity.

Little known fact about MS: She is a Barnard graduate and one of the first women stockbrokers. One of her first jobs found her sharing an office with actor Brian Dehenney. She passed all the tests to be become a certified broker and knew all the SEC rules about buying and selling.

When she make her illegal transaction, she couldn't ingenuously pass the blame to her own broker. She knew better and made her choice.

Stewart was prosecuted like Michael Milken was prosecuted by Rudy Giuliani. If Trump pardons Stewart, he might as well pardon Milken, just to piss off Giuliani.

1. No matter how much she might flip the bird to a pic of Trump in a photo-op

IF she accepts a pardon, she is a scumbag (or a new/different kind than before, if that's your opinion of her).

She made her choice, she got convicted, she served her time. A pardon does nothing for her but does benefit Trump with the signal it sends. Ergo, there is no reason for her to accept it except to benefit Trump, or at minimum accepting it is to be permissive of it benefitting Trump.

We're watching Martha. We see you.

3. I'm hoping that if he offers Martha a pardon, she tells him to shove it.

She has already made her feelings about Trump known:

where the sun don't shine. She's way too cool to accept it from the likes of him.
