At first they said daddy had nothing to do with Jr's statement. Then they said he gave some general fatherly advice. Now they say he dictated it.
Why keep changing the story?
Obviously because they know the truth is going to come out.
I can only think of a couple reasons they know the truth is going to come out.
The most obvious reason is that someone who was there on Air Force 1 is squealing and they know it.
I tried googling who was on the plane and didn't come up with anything.
The other possibility is that Jr could be facing charges himself if he is the one who wrote the statement and he doesn't want to take the fall for his father.

(9,942 posts)when people keep changing their story and their lies it is usually because they are caught lying and then they change their story. We have no knowledge or indication that any testimony has contradicted what they originally said, which would be a reason to change their story. that's my point.

(38,958 posts)Why do they do anything?
I believe it comes at least in part from the inability to keep one's lies straight. I knew a fellow years ago that I considered to be simple a pathological liar. He lied about everything big and small mostly just to weave a "good" story. It got to the point that I couldn't stand to be around him and we went out separate ways.

(42,770 posts)The president directed that Trump Jr.s statement to the Times describe the meeting as unimportant. He wanted the statement to say that the meeting had been initiated by the Russian lawyer and primarily was about her pet issuethe adoption of Russian children. Air Force One took off from Germany shortly after 6 p.m., about noon in Washington. In a forward cabin, Trump was busy working on his sons statement, according to people with knowledge of events. The president dictated the statement to Hicks, who served as a go-between with Trump Jr., who was not on the plane, sharing edits between the two men, according to people with knowledge of the discussions.
