As to legacy, EVERYTHING that is done is part of a President's legacy. A President can get credit for things that have little to do with his actions (ie Trump's "great" economy&quot . I think Clinton's scandals did impact the future and not just in many Democrats now (or then) having to make exceptions for him that they would not make for any Republican. Gore actually DID get more votes in Florida and without the "felons list that included blacks not charged or convicted of felonies, the Palm beach ballot that led to many votes intended for Gore to be thrown out, and the harassment on election day of the Haitian American population, he would have won Florida by a comfortable margin. However, with no scandal, Bush, a drunk until he was 40, could not have run on "bringing honor and decency back to the White House" , Gore could have more unambiguously ran on the peace and prosperity of the 1990s with changes that reflected who he is. He also would likely not have selected Joe Lieberman, who was chosen partly because of that scandal.

Though you never know the branch of "the future" that is not taken, but it is likely to have been better than the one taken!

All mentions of the Clintons are about the midterms, not about them, not about ANYTHING except holding onto power. We must gain a majority in the senate, not just the house. The next SCOTUS appointment must be confirmed by a Democrat-controlled senate.

We know Mika and Joe have been longtime Clinton haters but today's comments went just too far. Sorry, Mika, you don't get to tell Democrats who they need and don't need. Trying to erase WJC legacy of putting more women and minorities into positions of power in gov.

Folks conveniently forget that Bill Clinton was impeached, he apologized publicly (something that is much more difficult than a private phone call that no one but the two parties hear), he lost millions as a result, Monica always said the affair was consensual, she was not a minor, the Clintons decided that it was more important to them to keep their family together, they continue with their life-long service to humanity unsung.

I lived through that era and worked for government during the Clinton-Gore years. Their administration motto was "putting people firs." Our agencies at the time worked diligently with some success at re-inventing government. The SSA and FEMA when they left office attest to the successful changes they made place service offices of these agencies all over the US and automating many of the SSA functions. Also, Family Leave workplace safety were major initiatives during those 8 years. Was it all perfect? By no means, but the tone and tenor of the government working for the people was much different and people generally felt better about their government and people were generally more caring for one another.

Putting people first and building a government that looked more like America was foundation of their administration.

No matter how much the Clinton haters keep trying, millions will continue to support them and their current efforts to serve others who are less fortunate. It was a far better time than now even if they don't want to admit it.

The Clintons always cared about regular, working people. They did not grow up with silver spoons in their mouths, like Dubya and tRump. They understand WORKING for a living. So, now they are wealthy, because they were well liked and respected worldwide. Still are. No protests are planned when the Clintons or Obamas travel overseas. tRump is afraid to visit the UK!! Don;t expect tRump to earn speaking fees as high as the DEMOCRATIC presidents are paid. He is as dumb as a bag of hammers. Besides, if the laws are allowed to stand, he will be in prison where he has belonged for many years.
