8:30 AM and I was informed by email that they'd "be chatting with me soon."
It's now 11:19 AM and I have heard NADA from them.
I forgot my password and when I try to report it keeps saying Uber doesn't recognize my email.
Yet, they sent me the email I mentioned above.
I think I'll have to delete the account and later on reactivate it.
I hope somebody at Uber sees this.

(82,849 posts)A couple of years ago, an Uber driver cut me off on my morning bicycle commute, proceeded to run a red light and a stop sign, and drop off his passenger while sitting in the traffic lane instead of pulling over. He then ran another stop sign and sped off out of the neighborhood. I got his license plate number, and when I got to the office, wrote out the whole scenario, hoping to complain to Uber about their reckless driver.
I couldn't get through on their website. There isn't any contact information there, so you can't call them. Unless you download the Uber app and give them all your personal information, you can't interact with Uber at all. Despite their assurances that they carefully vet and monitor their drivers, they do no such thing.

(1,499 posts)Uber's business model is to factor "people" out of this entirely.
People = cost = lower profit
Drivers are not employees, they are contractors, it's cheaper that way, foisting liability and expense to the contractor.
