Questions for the homophobic baker

Would he make a cake for

-a divorced person who wants to remarry:

But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

-Matthew 5:32

-a Christian that wants to marry a non-Christian:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

- Corinthians 6:14

-a couple that had premarital sex:

I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler--not even to eat with such a one.

1 Corinthians 5 : 9 -11

It took our faith community 8 years to agree to marry us, largely because a couple who was unable to procreate said our two women who could not have children (despite the fact that we already had one) were unable to fulfill God's will by having children.

5. The irony is priests, ministers, and rabbis marry cohabiting couples all the time.

The Bible is a guide book. It's not like Chilton's Auto Repair Manual.

fertility testing for straight couples? Do they refuse to marry people who are past the age of childbearing?

I get in trouble for asking these questions of my in-laws when this topic is brought up...come to think of it, they shut their pie holes when I'm around these days.

Glad you were finally able to get married!

this specific couple was unable to have children (and they were unable at the time they married - her uterus had been surgically removed).

WTF?

So, by their own words, they should never have been allowed to marry. Actually, the woman in that marriage should never have, by those rules, been allowed to marry anyone.

Kind of makes you wonder if the cognitive dissonance hurts their heads, doesn't it?

We tried to push them on it. I never could figure out how they could reconcile their reality with the basis for their opposition to our marriage.

Or he has no way of knowing.

The whole thing is stupid in the extreme. He might bake cakes for all kinds of things of which he disapproved without knowing it.
