Kiel man charged with putting objects into Johnsonville Sausage links

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - A Kiel man has been arrested on charges he put items into Johnsonville sausage links.
Jonathan Tilman Lane appeared in federal court in Milwaukee to face charges of tampering with a consumer product.

Video surveillance on March 25, 2018, shows Lane placing cigarette paper in a sausage link, according to a criminal complaint.

Video surveillance on March 28 shows Lane placing a wire connector in a sausage link, the complaint says.

The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin says the items were removed from the links before the sausages were packaged.

Man sentenced to prison for ax, grinder attack on girlfriend

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WBAY) - A Manitowoc County judge sentenced David Moon to two years in prison for attacking his girlfriend with an ax and a power grinder.

Moon, 48, was sentenced after pleading no contest Monday to second-degree recklessly endangering safety in domestic violence, felony bail jumping and being a repeat offender resisting an officer.

He was initially charged with ten counts, including first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

After prison he'll be on supervised release for another five years.

According to court documents, Manitowoc police were called to a home on March 29 for a disorderly conduct complaint.

A woman told police her boyfriend, Moon, just finished a sobriety class as part of his probation and he celebrated by getting drunk. The victim said Moon became upset with her. He punched and strangled her and threatened to kill her, she said. At some point he threatened her with a hand ax against her neck and pressed a handheld grinder with a sanding disk against her leg. Moon's sister called police.
