SUN VALLEY, Idaho (AP) Clint Eastwood just made Mitt Romney's day.
The "Dirty Harry" star and Oscar-winning director of "Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar Baby" endorsed the Republican presidential candidate Friday night during a Sun Valley fundraiser.
"I think the country needs a boost," Eastwood told The Associated Press as he joined other Romney supporters for the private campaign event.
In February, Eastwood told Fox News that he wasn't supporting any politician at that time. Some saw the "halftime in America" ad he made for the Super Bowl as a nod toward President Barack Obama. Eastwood responded then by saying he was not "politically affiliated" with the president.

(1,560 posts)Eastwood has been a registered Republican since 1952. His views don't exactly toe the GOP line, but he even endorsed McCain in 08, so i don't see why anyone would have expected him to change his views from then to now.

(45,319 posts)by many negative names. 'Don't give me that sanctity bullshit' he said, then he turns around and VOTES for that sanctity bullshit. What the fuck kind of a man is that? Says he thinks people should get to live the life they want, then supports a hyper religious anti gay bigot that will oppose such freedoms. Clint is a fake, a hypocrite and his word is worthless yammering. His support is the same as his opposition.
Clint is a millionaire and he cares only for his money. He has been a good director once or twice, I'll never see one of his films again, he exploited my people and he can go fuck himself.

(24,461 posts)President Obama's a Chi-School free-marketer (something I cannot STAND in the least . . . WHEN are we going to get an economically progressive president) and his congress has been Third-Way worthless to Repub-pigshit since minute one. Most of them sumbitches are in Club Democrat, not Club Progressive.
Economically, there IS no option when corporations and the wealthy are pulling the strings.
"Separation of Church and State" . . .yeah, now how about separation of Corporation and State?
It appears old Clint is a true phony...remember, he is just acting...

(45,319 posts)This good for nothing, self serving millionaire just a few months ago said those who oppose marriage equality are dealing is bullshit and now he endorses that hate and that bullshit just so he can save a few more dollars to add to his endless fortune. What a vile spineless old hypocrite this ancient ham turns out to be, when the fight gets serious, his 'support' is shown to be nothing but hot air, Clint wanking for the press to get attention.
Cowardly and greedy, Clint needs to just stop talking, as like Mitt, one day he says one thing, the next he supports the opposite. Perhaps they are both symptomatic.
Clint said this: ""I don't give a fuck about who wants to get married to anybody else! Why not?! We're making a big deal out of things we shouldn't be making a deal out of ... Just give everybody the chance to have the life they want."
But Clint actually votes for the hate mongers opposed to equality. Clint is a liar and fake. Always has been. Effete, priggish and if his fans knew how he really is, they'd never stop throwing up.

(5,420 posts)I thought Clint was much smarter than that. I am so disappointed. He is one of the last of the great old stars and now, now I have to throw him in the pile with Chuck Norris.
I was just getting ready to watch "fistful of Dollars" but now, I don't want to. I'm hurt to find out that Clint is an idiot.
Goodbye, old friend.
Yes, that's right. If you are willing to throw the country away with a move like that, I am willing to throw you away. I knew something strange was going on with him when he agreed to that "reality" show so his wife and kids could find fame.
