First Trump did not spurn our allies as you put it. The tariffs are because our allies spurned us. Even though the tariffs they levy the U.S. are higher than U.S. tariffs they refused to negotiate saying this has been the norm. In that they are correct, administrations for years have allowed allies to take advantage of its. Note Trump has got NATO allies to start paying their fair share. I think you said at the time he spurned them.

As for Russia I see you could not resist pushing the conspiracy theory. But while I was initially surprised of the call to bring Russia back to the G8, there are advantages, first Russia can be helpful with North Korea, second as the old saying goes "keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.
