Bill Maher was on point with his panelist as they made the point clearly how inept the Democratic Establishment has been in codifying the attack portion of their messaging that keeps GOP many severe evil acts on the minds of the electorate.
Many, balk when one criticizes ourselves. We should not we should listen to critiques and do something about it.
The statements made by Bill Maher and John Heilemann may upset some. But if you love the Democratic Party and want Democrats to win, it is something we better address quickly. I try to do it in my sphere but we need it done not only from the Democratic Establishment but in many of our own spheres of influence.

But they have to be careful as well. Lots of places are still 'swing' districts/states and need a less brash approach.

Actually easily edit it down to two sentences max, instead of trying to impress people w so many adjectives.
I have to be honest, that writing is so rough and sloppy its kind of funny youre attempting to influence communicators. And hadnt you done a piece on how the Dems have to do more than run against Trump?

(24,438 posts)It would just be seen as "partisan bickering" if it were coming more from Democrats. I agree that Democrats should be more vocal but Trump/Republicans are largely making things worse for themselves on their own and Democrats almost don't really need to say much other than what they're going to do for the American public that Trump/Republicans aren't. I'm sure that there's not a Democrat alive whom doesn't think that Trump is an utterly incompetent boob (my apologies to other boobs). It's just so blatant and obvious that it almost doesn't need to be said. It almost doesn't matter whether journos are outright saying negative things about Trump either, because the news largely speaks for itself and most people paying attention can plainly see that Trump is a mess.

(6,709 posts)otoh, letting tRump set the narrative on witch hunts, deep state, mueller, FBI, former intelligence officials et al is a bad move We know the asshole is making it up as he goes, but who among the general public does if our side doesn't dispute it?

(1,028 posts)the Democratic messaging.
Some want more focus on Trump and how destructive and deplorable he is.
Others want more focus on jobs and health care.
It's quite possible to focus on both, and most Democratic leaders to.

(7,429 posts)It is the job of the media to tell the audience when someone is lying. They don't. They continue to use words that say things like he doesn't have all of the facts.
Or maybe once the media would stop with the what-about-isms. Democrats have never done even 1/8 of what Trump has done and never get away with it with the media. Trump changes his stories so fast and they don't call him out.
So when a Democrat mentions something is a lie, the media has to put a Trumpian on to blast said Democrat. WHY? Why not just have the Democrat on to tell the truth. There is no need for a Trumpian to come on to say anything at this point. If you think he's telling the truth then debate that. But no, Repukes and Trumpians (one and the same right now) just like to belittel their opponents. This is why I love what DeNiro said last night at the Tony's. Fuck Trump!

(24,438 posts)Most elected Democrats, especially those in tough districts, can't just outright say stuff like that.
