(54,426 posts)The Canadian Ambassador used to invite his American friends and colleagues to a big July 4th party on the roof of the Canadian Embassy (second best view of the fireworks after the White House balcony), with as band and a cookout buffet and chefs flown in from Quebec.
I wonder if that will be continued this year? Except for the Trumpadors, Canada still has a LOT of friends in Washington. Last times I was there, there were very few Republicans (I can remember exactly two, and one of them was a CNN personality), but Clinton was president, so it made sense that Raymond wasn't working with many Republicans at the time.
