Trump Insists Parents of Fallen Korean War Soldiers Begged Him to Bring Sons Home

President Donald Trump made the rather ridiculous claim that parents of fallen Korean War soldiers came up to him on the campaign trail and begged for their sons’ remains to be brought home.

Yet, here is the thing. The math is not exactly in his favor.

The Korean War ended in 1953. While they technically could still be alive, it is unlikely that they are attending a campaign event calling for the return of their sons’ bodies.

There is also the problem that according to Trump’s account, it is not just one very elderly parent of a Korean war veteran, but more than one, as evidenced by use of the word “we.”

“When you can, president, we’d love our son to be brought back home — you know, the remains,” he recalled them saying, despite the fact he just said he was on the campaign trail and not POTUS yet.

those kid would have been born in 1935, so the parents would be born 1915-1920. A hundred years old. How many living centenarian couples does Trump actually talk to?

who was abducted by North Korea in the 70s, they believe she's still alive and asked Trump if he could do anything to bring her home. This was in Trump's little brain (and I'm sure he didn't really listen to them anyway) and turned into parents of Korean War soldiers. That's my theory.

Habitual lie'rs must lie that is for sure. But, look at poor quality trump steaks, screwball ties and cheaply crafted trump wine .On the wine, trump figures most people that buy 5 to 10 dollar bottles of wine really don't know much at all about what quality is in so far as wine goes. Same with stakes or anything else he peddles. So he figures there is always a vast number of suckers that will buy into his bull shit. So he considers himself a master at capitalizing on ignorance within the populace. I mean fer crying out loud ,the guy figures ties are too short- he thinks the tie ought to hang down to his balls. Most likely for trump that is actually a Trumpian original thought. So what does he do- he gets in touch with a Chinese sweat shop and has his idea mass produced because he thinks all ties ought to hang down there. Don't know what kind of sales came out of that but he doesn't seem to be claiming bragging rights to that end. So sure Comey nailed it, Trump just makes stuff up -why? Because habitual lie'rs just must lie. But don't underestimate trump's motives, he is and always is looking for ways to capitalize, the capital gain is all that matters to that of a type, nothing else.

He was born in October, 1929. His parents were born in 1900 so they would be 118 years old today. His parents were Republican small business owners but they would not believe that Trump is sitting in the White House today.

Suggesting that any US soldiers whose remains are in territory controlled by North Korea were there from before that time. Thus, born no later than early 1933, or 85 years old now. Alternatively, there could be some aircrews, but these would also tend to be slightly older due to the higher level of training necessary for this role.

Thus, realistically, the minimum possible age for the parents of any US soldiers whose remains are still in areas controlled by North Korea, is 100 - provided that the mother became pregnant at the age of 14 (which did occasionally happen. However, the women who became teenaged mothers were also not the type to have healthcare enabling them to live beyond 100 years of age.

I tend to agree with the poster above, that Trump has conflated the Yokota family of Japan with US soldiers.

Trump claims, preposterously, that parents of Korean War veterans came up to him during the 2016 campaign and said, "when you can, we'd love our son to be brought back home -- you know, the remains."…
