Trump claims, preposterously, that parents of Korean War veterans came up to him during the 2016 campaign and said, "when you can, we'd love our son to be brought back home -- you know, the remains."

The Korean War ended in 1953.

I think he pays little attention to anything that isn't named Trump, and even then his memory is both brief and shallow. Witness his only takeaway from the Kim summit: those few moments when he babbled about building hotels on NK beaches. That Kim smiled in response probably tells Trump that he was a big hit and that everyone is sure to love him for it.

Those rare times when he is focused are the times when he can manage to slap together a lie, but mostly he's just wishing out loud and counting on the media to make it come true. Ish.

He said "do this" and aides would scramble to make him believe that they had done it.

It left him completely unprepared for running a branch of government.
