How dare a reporter question Mike Pompeo!

Pompeo criticizes ‘insulting and ridiculous and, frankly, ludicrous’ question

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blasted a reporter on Wednesday after the journalist asked why the denuclearization of North Korea was not included in an agreement signed between the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, and President Trump.

“The president said it will be verified," the reporter said to Pompeo in South Korea, to which Pompeo responded, "Of course it will."

"Can you tell us a little bit more about what is, what is — what discussed about how," the reporter continued.
“Just so you know, you could ask me this, I find that question insulting and ridiculous and, frankly, ludicrous," Pompeo said. "I just have to be honest with you, it’s a game and one ought not to play games with serious matters like this."

The secretary of state said on Wednesday that the U.S. wants quick progress on North Korea's promise to dismantle its nuclear program.

He's probably as frustrated as the reporter, or nearly so, but he knows that lashing out seems to work.

He is so embarrassed by drumpfs lack of asking anything pertinent and just bending over for NK (at Putin's orders) that he totally lashes out when asked about it because there's no way in hell he can defend it so pretends to be insulted instead.

For an object lesson in the process, see Frank Bruni's column in the New York Times. The nation has been hit with an avalanche of Republican perfidy, betrayals, crimes against the Constitution, even (arguably) crimes against humanity. But what is that when weighed against Samantha Bee and Robert DeNiro saying swears? Did you know that a liberal saying a swear is a kazillion times worser than anything the Republicans have done recently or are doing right now? Bruni would love to denounce Republican awfulness, but now he can't because two people said swears.

Trump wins again and forever, and it's all Bee's and DeNiro's fault.

But just today, a Facebook friend whose education and erudition I generally admire posted Bruni's column with approval, and is getting a lot of support. I responded to his post differently; I'll post again if I get any replies or pushback.

" NYT columnist Frank Bruni: ‘Hillary Clinton should watch her language very carefully’
Yahoo News NowOctober 12, 2016

New York Times columnist Frank Bruni said Wednesday that should Hillary Clinton win the presidency — which he predicted — she should focus on being a leader for the whole country so that the next segment of American politics doesn’t feel like another war being fought.

Bruni told Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric, “Hillary Clinton should watch her language very carefully, because it’s that sort of thing that tells people, ‘I’m not looking at someone that’s leading me, I’m looking at someone who is a victor in a battle, the next chapter of which we are about to begin.'”

“So many politicians, Democrats, Republicans, everything is a fight, us versus them. So much of the language is the language of contest. It’s almost like being in a courtroom where two sides are arguing with each other for the favor of the jury. We are all in this together, this project is all of us.” "

I'm about out of patience with folks like Bruni who always find something to carp about on the left, but never ever criticize the same behavior (or, generally, worse) on the right. Has Bruni upbraided Trump for his brand of us versus them? Does he admonish Trump to watch his language very carefully? Perish the thought! He expects correct behavior from only one side, and when the liberals transgress, he's right there. Not a peep about Republicans or conservatives.

First they say 'both sides do it'. Then they only complain about our side doing it.

Of course, our side isn't doing the bad thing they're so worked up about in the first place, to boot.
