Admiral John Kirby is giving commentary, saying NoKo is using it for propaganda and that it's exactly the kind of thing they wanted from the U.S.

I doubt that Otto Warmbier would have found it to be "inconsequential". It was a disgrace. Please watch this.

The only thing to do is remind them, not pander to the low info crowd and play this up as inconsequential and normalize Trump.

Well what if? For a start:

The freedom folks in congress would be howling for congressional investigations.

The white wing press would commence drooling at this windfall, followed by their usual clackety-clack, ratchet-up racket and Hannity, et. al., would self induce what might be called orgasmic bliss in a lower life form. Lets say Hymenoptera or at least Muscoid.

The MSM would begin that inescapable, monotonous drone about how this "just isn't done" for at least a week, or until Hannity decided to pull out, all sweaty and a-quivering.

And we would once again be subject to another dose of what passes for news.

The good news is that Obama would not find himself in this position with NK given similar circumstances. But a slight bow of acknowledgment to a robed middle east head of state? That takes us back to item 1 above. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.
