Now...where does it say this?????
.Amendment 6 from the "Bill of Rights" ( First 10 Amendments of Constitution)
- Rights of Accused Persons in Criminal Cases
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor; and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.
Please note one word "all"
First 4 words ."In all criminal prosecutions.."
all means all.. it does not mean some, or a few, or immigrants, or whatever.
all means all When this gets into court, all children will be released.

(15,805 posts)I was thinking the same thing when this horror show broke; where are the court appointed attorneys to represent these kids and their parents before uniformed thugs ripped them apart? The immigrants are awaiting asylum hearings to see if they can stay in the U.S. or if they will be deported, but while they wait, they are being arbitrarily separated.
Nothing, nothing, can warrant this kind of cruelty to families who arrive at our border asking for refuge, only to have their children taken away in Trump's inhuman immigration chess game.
