Something just hit me. These kids at the borders and across the US are being held at various centers

which seem to have been empty Wal-Mart buildings. I wonder if Wal-Mart still owns them and if they are renting them out to the Feds? Being some of the Republican elite and getting by with all their low wages resulting in taxpayers supporting employees in food stamps, housing assistance and health care, wouldn't it burn our butts to find out they are making big bucks off these unfortunate kids?

Anyone know? That would be a sweet deal if they could rent out those empty buildings...probably signed a 3-year lease on top of it.

My mind runs on suspicious 90% of the time anymore.

better PR. Sounds friendlier than Kids-in-a-Cage (R).

The so-called "family-values" republicans are depending on their strategy of renaming the Walmarts to deflect any further criticism, and shut everybody up, so they can go on jamming kids into cages and breaking up families.

At least, that's what THEY say.

But the use was supposed to have been to corral US in when Obama took over according to them. They said it was FEMA arranging it and that FEMA was practicing to round us all up when they had some sort of exercise near the border. The exercise had a code name, I think "jade" was part of it..
Anyway... big conspiracy theory at the time as to why all the profitable Walmarts suddenly closed.

(taxes) for whatever municipality, county, whatever, they were located in. Those locations had to be approved by local governments in order to be built, unless they simply moved into a vacant Sears or something. I have never yet heard of a prison being built without some kind of state or county approval. I wonder if this was done and just not covered by news media or if the federal government has some power to commandeer private property. It seems like a detention center of any kind would have some zoning approval process.

Romney could have sold leftover toys to the government at full price to keep them entertained during their imprisonment. That is what it is, right?

Get the address of one of them, go to that counties online GIS/ Tax mapping system and see who owns it.

Typically Wal-Malt sells off the properties once they leave them.

They are evil enough to put the older kids to work. Slave labor.

If you're suspicious about this, you're in good company.

It has been surrounded by conspiracy theories for years, but maybe there has been a grain of truth.. Between the Walmart and Jade Helm conspiracies, this sounds like what has happened, except we picked the wrong target.

I was thinking more in line with the cruise line that rented their liners during Katrina and Puerto Rico hurricanes. I forget what they paid for those leases. Wal-Mart would be perfect, since they have stores everywhere and many are empty. A nice little bundle in their pockets for basically little work. I didn't realize they sold their stores when closed. It took a long time for the store in our area.

2 were sold and 1 torn down to make way for other smaller stores. We currently have 2 open in the same town.

So they can move to where the customers are if needed.

Commercial real estate brokers are the worst kind of sharks, they loath to drop rents, and will leave buildings empty for years until someone coughs up the money they demand.

One major exception is McDonald's, the company owns all of the real estate and then leases it to the franchisees. That's where most the the McDonald's corporate profits come from.

Are corporations getting tax dollars for allowing their properties to be used like this?

We need a list of who is getting this money.

At the county assessors office, assuming that the county has a searchable website. Otherwise you have to go in and request info on the parcel.

Eta eg. I just looked up a target in phx, the property is owned by:

ROSEBUD SA CAMELBACK ONE LLC

Whoever that is.
