When someone suffering from depression commits suicide, it is no different than someone dying from pancreatic cancer.

The brain is an organ that can become unwell like any other organ. Realizing that fact should be a national goal. Only then will the stigma be removed and accepting help become easier.

I would still be interested in knowing if there was anything in system that may have altered his thinking. I’m still so devastated by this loss. I’ve loved Bourdain since “A Cook’s Tour.” Have all his books (one signed!) and watched everything he did. I just can’t believe he’s gone.

Drug use goes hand in hand with depression. And does make the final act seem easier I guess.

I can seem heartless at times, but his death really bothered me. Admittedly for selfish reasons as there will be no more if his incredible shows.

The French alps show with Eric Rupert was some of the best production I have ever seen.

As a native Louisianan the No Reservations show when he attended the Boucherie and killed the hog, stated Cajun food was the only original American cuisine was the tops for me.

I particularly liked the one where they went to Peru together. I also loved it when he teamed up with Zamir. The Uzbekistan episode of “No Reservations” where they visit a Turkish bath is hilarious!

a reason to live etc and he was straight when he said that so that's something to think about.

"It doesn't -- as you've probably guessed -- take a lot for us to laugh, not after you've been softened up by countless 'hang-yourself-in-the-shower-stall' hotel rooms."

Today somewhere on the Internet someone said Tony might have been diagnosed with MS, and I'd noticed while watching recent interviews how his fingers kept moving rather strangely almost constantly. In one of the interviews he said that in some episodes of his show he looks really bad because his hands were shaking too badly to hold a razor and shave that morning. I thought it might have been a diagnosis of some kind and he was tired and thought may as well check out now.
