James 2:14-22 New International Version (NIV)
Faith and Deeds
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, Go in peace; keep warm and well fed, but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, You have faith; I have deeds.
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe thatand shudder.
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[a]? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.

It's cruel and unusual punishment.
It violates everything that we as a country stand for.

(3,515 posts)The Hugenots were Protestants in Catholic France. All of that child's family were killed, and he lived. A group of Hugenots went via a circuitous route to Britain. He was among them and survived. To take a child from his or her parents is cruelty beyond belief.
Anyone who has had children should know this. I cannot believe that Sessions and the Trump administration has sunk to this point. It is truly shocking. To deprive children unnecessarily of their families is to condemn them to a life of suffering. The emotional suffering is extreme when a child is taken from his/her parents.

Deuteronomy 24:14-15 "You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of your aliens who is in your land in your towns. "You shall give him his wages on his day before the sun sets, for he is poor and sets his heart on it; so that he will not cry against you to the LORD and it become sin in you.
Deuteronomy 27:19 'Cursed is he who distorts the justice due an alien, orphan, and widow.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'
Psalm 146v9 The LORD protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow, But He thwarts the way of the wicked.
Zechariah 7:10 Do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.'
Matthew 25:35-46
'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

(3,515 posts)You should make an OP of it and send a copy of it to Sarah Sanders. She should be ashamed of herself. She knows better. What if her children were taken from her?

(28,270 posts)They have pretty much destroyed it now IMO.
It's a weapon of the rich and the racist for the most part now, to punish the stranger in the land, the poor and the sick.
