I am so ashamed of the United States

I was watching the story of the little children being ripped away from their parents...children who are put on freight cars and hauled away like Germany on the 1930's, children being lied to saying they are being taken for a medical exam or a SHOWER and then never to see their parents again. Children in cages 6 to a cage. Children you can't contact their parents. Children sepearted from their siblings. What are we doing to these innocent one.

This is not the America I was taught about as a child in Europe.

I can not believe that the people of this nation will let this happen with out rising up and taking to the streets.

How will the rest of the world view us? What shred of moral authority do we have left when discussing rules, decency and morality with gthe rest of the world?

We are the nation of the trail of tears, that used napalm on kids and Abu Ghraib etc.

Failure to acknowledge national history that is contrary to “traditional American exceptionalism" is to comfort oneself with fairy tales. A substantial amount of proud Americans support Cheeto but in 2018 we will have another opportunity to define ourselves.

Is a fetish that reality based people find abhorrent. Facts are true which is why Dolt45 can’t stand them.
Shame is defined as a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. If your conscious of wrongdoing by your country there is a feeling of distress. A US agency is physically tearing children from their parents and putting them into sh##es. Yeah I am ashamed. You can have shame, anger and truth all at once. These are not mutually exclusive. Knowledge of the facts of history enable oneself to avoid repeating similar conduct.

This is the reason Republicans are trying to buy up as much media as they can. See the recent stories about the Pittsburgh cartoonist who was fired after 25 years because he drew cartoons critical of Trump. Control the media, and you will control the minds of every citizen who does not have the time or the desire to think for themselves, and that is a LOT of them.
