(49,011 posts)Also, OP did not name the cartoonist in the OP.
His name is Rob Rogers. He is brilliant and deserves to be recognized and acclaimed by name for his creativity.

(16,928 posts)great podium. He's been seen nationally for several years now - surely some wise, brave, democratic publication will give him an opportunity to continue to share his brilliant insight. It truly is Pittsburgh's loss...............

(32,651 posts)They brought in a new executive managing editor (or whatever his title is) by order of the RWNJ owners, the Block family. The new boss has made several changes including cutting back on Rob Rogers' editorial cartoons. What I understood was that they would still publish his cartoons but only if they aren't blatantly anti-Trump.
I wasn't aware that Rogers had been fired. Frequently the Post Gazette has run cartoons from other newspapers rather than Rob's, but they still ran him maybe 4 or 5 times per week. Suddenly that stopped last week, and it was rumored on the internet that 5 of Rogers' cartoons had been refused all in the same week, including this one.
Maybe Rob has other publishing opportunities in like-minded newspapers? I hope so. Next to his sig it says "Andrews McMeel Syndication" so I'm guessing he has other newspapers.
