...Sen. Harris's account is clear.

These children are being held, in increasing numbers, in a cynical attempt to force a vote on whatever Trump wants, including money for the 'wall' he uses as a rhetorical cudgel against Mexicant migrants.

Kamala Harris is a leading advocate for these children and their families.

I'll hurt the children if you don't do as I please.

Yes, I'm aware it's not exactly what body shields are with hostages being the better term - but those who hold hostages kind of count on the authorities being unwilling to hurt the hostages to get what they want.
