Remember this number, 30%

Yes, Trump voters are blindly following. Trump can do no wrong. We have seen this bullshit before. This time its in a different form. The Trump voters turned against their party, thanks to bush. They care more about Trump then their party. They believe all politicians are crooked. Trump is somehow not a politician. He is one of them. Warped thinking!

As always the hardcore base is around 30%. Trump has around 10% of his voters who are not completely brain dead. Soon, as in the past when shit starts going badly Trumps numbers will drop. Once it gets around 30%, the 30% will no longer matter.

When that happens Republicans in congress will lose their fear of Trump. Same fly, different shit.

two campaigns. George Wallace and decades earlier,Charles Lindberg. They stoked the White Nationalist Theme to high hell and back.

Never forget this statement which we are hearing more and more as of late. I want my country back. Meaning,I want my White America back, which never was to start with. My guess is,this must be a Fox News thing, since we will never watch or listen to anything Murdoch.

spot or age in life, one should expound the positives of that life span. Seen a lot of pure ugly and I use it as a teaching moment so as to remind others to move on and make life easier and better for those who are following behind.

History will repeat similiar looking pictures and it is up to us to recognize these pictures for what they are and not repeat that pictorial image or messages.

But,today's Republican Party which seems to be run by the John Birch Wing, will never let go to their truly hate filled messages.

cultish mindsets often march to their own demise before blinking awake. In this case, their kool-aid fixation/addiction threatens the entire country. Still hard to accept that anyone could by into the Trumpster's bullshit. A recent poll had his polling at 87% approval among Republicans. The entire party--what's left of it--has ceased thinking and caring about anything.

Walking off a cliff doesn't sound too fantastic under the circumstances.

Trump voters. Some in heavy trumpster districts will not. And they all will continue to fear the conservative donor class, who have no intention of losing control.

But generally speaking, definitely agree.

Further, I believe Masha Gessen's observation on authoritarian followers, basically this 30%, is credible -- that the one big thing that will cause them to abandon support for their leader is to realize they've backed a loser, not a strong man. Not atrocities for this group, they're "covering" their self images with virtuous loyalty and refusals to believe, but learning they backed a loser will kill him for them.

We saw this happen toward the end of W's second term when the base finally realized W wasn't pull off some magic win for them. Polls showed that Republican support dropped into the 30s and finally into the 20s, and then into the teens as his loyal authoritarian base collapsed. Pew says Bush's OVERALL approval at lowest was 22%, but I remember seeing polls of Republicans showing 12-15% at the very end. Unfortunately, they're not just very bad losers but very slow and stubborn ones.

W didn't have a special investigation turning up too many crimes to keep track of, though.

It cites studies about the 30% who are authoritarian followers even if it is detrimental to themselves. It's necessary to understand them if we are to.... well, maybe not defeat them but certainly to defang them.
