only after they are convicted imprisoned and cannot be pardoned. nt msongs Jun 2018 #1
I'd let him walk after they were convicted then arrest him again on new charges right outside. sunonmars Jun 2018 #2
No. But I might be easily persuaded to reduce his sentence. Freethinker65 Jun 2018 #3

depends on what his crimes are. Then possibly a reduced sentence. Lil Missy Jun 2018 #18

And he admitted to killing nineteen people.

Using that as a measure letting Manafort walk if he gives up the entire Trump crime family seems like justice, albeit rough justice.

We can thrown in that he has to pay restitution for the taxes he evaded.

I would let Manafort walk to get Trump, his kids, Pence, Sessions, Hannity, the Mercer Family, Erik Prince, Roger Stone, McConnell, Ryan, Nunes and anyone in the RNC who knew what was happening, turned a blind eye and hasn't already started cooperating.

Just Trump is not enough. The problem we're facing isn't Trump. It's that Republican establishment propping him up which needs to be rooted out and the earth salted to stop them springing up again.

But, if he cooperates now, he gets a sentence that doesn't result in him dying in prison.

That is not the way the justice system is supposed to work. Either everyone plays by the same rules or there is no confidence in our justice system.

It is not difficult to imagine the tortured debate within Mueller’s mind as he weighed the decision. He could allow Sammy, a man who had admittedly killed 19 men, to play for Uncle Sam’s team. Or he could go into the Gotti trial knowing that Teflon Don—the swaggering crime boss who had walked away from three prior trials—could once again get away with murder. Pulling him in one direction was a lifetime of rectitude: a lofty moral code passed on by his education at St. Paul’s School, Princeton University, and the Marine Corps. And doubtlessly pulling him in another direction was a fair share of ambition. He’d be the man who brought down John Gotti, and the world would unquestionably be a better place for it.

An eighteen year old kid with no priors slinging rocks is picked up by the police. The penalties for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute range up to fifteen years in prison. He gives up the dealer who sold him the rocks. He gets probation. Is that justice? Without cooperating witnesses, i.e. snitches and rats lots of bad guys would be walking the streets.

What kind of deals do you think Flynn or Papadopoulos got ? Did you object to those deals ?

If Manafort's testimony led to the removal of Trump from office and his crime family facing charges I would adopt him.

Papa is fool. Flynn is dangerous but an idiot. Manafort is much, much worse. He was the Russia connection. In my mind, he is a bigger fish than the Rump. So what worries me is that he would be given a reduced sentence and be able to go back to wheeling and dealing with Putin in no time at all. Then #47 would be Kanye!

But getting rid of him at the cost of letting one of his biggest enablers go perpetuates the cycle. That is, unless the plea bargain called for constant surveillance and not being able to leave the country. I might go for that.
