Is there anyone else concerned that the repubs could use family separation against us by:

I really believe at this point the republicans in congress are going to write a horrible new immigration policy that has in it keeping families united and the democrats will not vote for it and they will do their best to convince the nation that the democrats are the ones for family separation.

I think this is going to be their strategy. I think it could work.

in exchange for any changes in the family separation policy. In other words, he's holding the children hostage in order to get the wall.

Because no matter what happens, they will spin it to make it sound like it's the Democrats fault. We could end the policy of child separation and reunite families, and we would get flak for hurting the jobs of the ICE agents.

Point is, they're not arguing in good faith, they never have been, so I'm not going to waste energy worrying how they're going to frame it today or tomorrow or next week. We all know what they're gonna say.

It's a pretty simple yes or no question: do you support separating families? Yes or no. If yes, the conversation is over, and I have no problem telling you that I find your views morally repugnant and wrong. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

7. Maybe Democrats should call their bluff and vote unanimously to build his fucking wall.

Then, as a campaign issue, make it clear in neon lights they did it for the sake of the children and remind Republicans of Trump's "Mexico will pay for it" schtick. They can accuse the GOP of wasting taxpayer money that should be going to healthcare and other important issues. When Democrats regain power we can defund the stupid thing.

It's exactly what they're doing: holding the children hostage to get a shitty far right "immigration reform" bill passed. When it doesn't pass, they'll blame the Dems.

If a bill passes, The bill will severely restrict immigration and include a wall. In exchange for that, Dreamers will get a PATHWAY to LEGALIZATION with a ton of requirements and about a 6-10 yer wait for a green card provided they meet strict requirements. Essentially a long probation period.

Cruel f-ers.

...who is responsible for separating children from their parents. You are holding children hostage. You are maliciously terrorizing children, and Democrats will not negotiate with terrorists. We demand an immediate end to this cruel policy."

That's more or less what I want to hear from every single Democrat in Congress.
