But he has to complete that chore first. (oh, I am not from Texas..sorry)

I'm a big believer in being elected to a statewide office first, either as a Senator or Governor.

I know of no cases in recent memory, with the exception of Eisenhower and Trump, that a President hasn't served as a Governor or Senator. He's only 45 and has only been in the House for 6 years.
