(7,725 posts)And how.

(2,541 posts)That is not how it is going to happen. The only way trump gets stopped between now and Jan. is if republicans step up and do something. Meaning Ryan or McConnell have to act (which they wont). The only way Jan. would possible to do something is if Dems win the House in Nov. and can put some sort of check on trump in Jan. which I dont think they would be able to act that quickly.
There is no scenario where Mueller puts a stop to trump with out republicans and to get republicans to act Mueller would have to have extraordinary evidence. Evidence so damning that trump looses his base and republicans are left with no choice.
The case in courts now over Emoluments and his foundation are promising but both are months away from any real impact. The only answer is for Dems to win in Nov.

(819 posts)Impeaching a president is a political act, not a legal one. DOJ rules will not permit Mueller to indict him... and Mueller plays by the book.
Thinking that Mueller has some bombshell that nobody knows about is nothing more than click bait... it's gets everyones hopes up, and that's about it.

(6,139 posts)there is precisely zero chance of trumps impeachment or any reduction in his supporters. This November will be our very last chance.

(28,127 posts)This evening. Scary. The conclusion was that unless we can change the chokehold the rethugs have on the states' districts, we don't have a very good chance in Nov. They said that's unlikely. Sorry to be negative.
We BADLY need ALL people of color to vote, along with all white dems. Our democracy depends on it.
GOTV.

(6,139 posts)because the entire state gets to vote. If a democrat won a seat in Alabama then a dem can win in Utah and many other (long forgotten by democratic party) states. Senate controls supreme court, mcconnel set the precedent, dems will be under no obligation to even hold hearings on ANY judicial nominees by trump. Courts may strike down gerrymandering practices. There is a little beacon of hope till Novemeber, its of no use to despair right now; youll have the rest of your life to do so if we miserably fail in midterms which means we deserve to be destoyed as a country (stupidity must be punished).

(9,527 posts)If you have 5 races on your ballot and 4 of them are effectively already decided, it can detract from the incentive to vote. Probably a relatively small impact, but if 1% of votes changed from Trump to Clinton she wins going away.

(28,127 posts)But you have to look at the districts that voted for Hillary over Trump in 2016.I think there is around 22 or 23 that voted for Hillary.there is also a bunch that was close.look at the special election in Pennsylvania where Conor Lamb won.a district that was carried by Trump by 20 points or more in 2016.

(28,270 posts)in dog kennels and the evil GOP party that protects Trump, are not suddenly going to obey the law when Mr Mueller lays out his case, IMO.
We MUST GET CONTROL of the House and I hope the Senate, that will be the ONLY THING that can and will stop the evil fascist madman in the white house!
