The coward Portman won't answer the phone.

None of his offices have ever answered when i'va called.

Had to call several times to get through busy signals, so someone else is calling too.

Blunt has a full inbox and flooded lines.

If you make a lot of phone calls you realize how common this is, especially when something controversial has happened.
