On MSNBC it was suggested that showing the girls might bring more sympathy

But that by showing only boys - teens and younger - it plays into Trump's fear campaign of MS-13, gangs! gangs! gangs! have to keep all those little brown boys from coming into the country and joining MS-13!

I think that might be right.
